Capital Athletics

As the Assistant Director of Athletics Communications at Capital University, I shared the responsibilities to oversee 24 varsity sports in all communications capacities. The main duties included overseeing all student workers, writing press releases, collecting statistics, coordinating media, creating content and managing all social media channels. Outside of those duties, I had the opportunity to host and produce a university sponsored podcast, reach out to alumni of sports programs to write feature articles and come up with new ways to elevate the student athletes like a digital trading card set and other team or athlete specific content.

Due to the pandemic, all fall and spring sports ended up being competed at the same time from March to May which made for an unbelievably hectic time and didn’t allow for me to create as much content as I had planned. Nevertheless, my boss and I both worked extremely hard to put out as much original content as we could and given the considerable time constraints, we were quite successful.
