NECL

The National Esports Champions League (NECL) is a competitive youth esports league that runs fall, winter and spring seasons in multiple of the most popular game titles. The league is a property of Uptime Esports and was folded in under their social accounts from its inception in 2019. That caused for some confusion and when I started with the organization, splitting that brand out and giving the league its own space was one of my first priorities.

The first item on the list was to recreate the NECL brand identity to a modern, gaming focused, aesthetic that would appeal to the kids that play in the league. After updating the look, I then fully designed the league website and created dedicated social media accounts. From that point, the next challenge was to create content for a league that is operated and competed in remotely. Nothing was happening with the league other than competition each Saturday of the season, so I created full game day campaigns, orchestrated the collection and use of individual players statistics and implemented teams of the week in each game to highlight the players. In doing so, I had the opportunity to create content strategies, content calendars, design content and manage all league communications.
